Photos: 18-year-old girl buried alive for three days to 'cure' crippling back pains caused by lightening

A teenager was buried alive to cure crippling back pains she has been experiencing after she was recently struck by lightning on her way to school in Monteria, Colombia, as relatives believed it would "take away the energy" the lightning left inside her.

18-year-old Ana Ballesteros was placed in a giant hole which was filled with earth and covered up to her neck for three days a week in her family's garden.

She was treated in hospital but continued to suffer back pain she claimed prevented her from walking properly. The treatment  involved her being buried for up to four hours a day over three days.

"Doctors study medicine but not lightning," Ana said. "I know that getting into that hole I’m goingto get better because these are ancient things."Her grandmother, Blanca de la Rosa said:"What we’re doing is taking the fire out of the light, the heat out of the energy."

Ana’s mum Milena added:

 "Locals told me before I took her to hospital that we’d be better off burying her instead to take the energy from the lightning away. I’m praying she comes out okay. She can’t walk properly and the burns she suffered on her feet cause her pain. I trust in God."

Local doctors have expressed their skepticism over the treatment. Walter Gomez, who works out of a clinic in the regional capital Monteria, admitted there were a lot of ancient beliefs among the community about how to cure storm victims including burial.

"There’s no scientific proof that burying a patient who has been struck by lightning has any beneficial effects for their recover" Gomez added.

Serena Beuford, 27, of Boston was left in a coma after her b*tt implants exploded while doing squats for the gram.

“I heard a loud popping noise followed by the woman falling to the floor. She was screaming my ass is gone!!!; I had no idea what she was talking about until I saw her cushion like butt missing when EMS took her out the gym.

There was blood and yellowish fluid all over the floor. She used to always show off her butt in the gym and tried to get guys attention with her work outs. Looks like she got more attention than she wanted this time around”

According to her sister Serena got her surgery done in March of this year from an unlicensed clinic and she reported that her sister absolutely loved her butt.

She said her sister got a lot of attention from men who would buy her gifts just because of her butt. She said Serena wanted to be an Instagram star and she thought this was the way to do it.

According to the doctor’s working on Serena’s case she is expected to survive but will have no use of her bowel system, she will have to use a colostomy bag:

The eruption of her implants caused severe damage to her rectum, colon, and lower intestines. According to medical officials, Beuford will require extensive medical procedures to repair the damage caused by the bad surgery.

“We, as physicians, do not understand why women put themselves through such agonizing pain to achieve results like this. These surgeries are not healthy for the body and are not meant to last long. Whoever did this to this young woman should be ashamed of themselves”, said Dr. Sanji, a surgeon.

According to NRG Energy, a company committed to reducing and repurposing carbon emissions released a shoe prototype that combines captured carbon dioxide in the foam of its sole at the New York Fashion Week this past week.

This is not the first time carbon dioxide has been converted into something useful. Beverage-grade carbon dioxide, a chemical technology develops a proprietary catalyst reacts with carbon dioxide to create polyurethane, which is used to create the foam for the sneaker.

The creation of the shoe changes the industry into replacing petrochemicals in products and lessens the world’s dependence on oil.

“We are not going to win the fight against climate change unless someone figures out how to capture and reuse carbon economically and turn it into something that society values,”Lynda Clemmons, vice president of NRG’s Business Solutions Group, was quoted as saying by The New York Times to Xinhua

Woman claims fast food restaurant served her family fried rat head instead of chicken (photos)

A woman, Rosemary Thomas went on Facebook to claim that popular fast food restaurant Popeyes sold fried rat head to her daughter, her sister and her niece instead of fried chicken which she had ordered for and that her faily suffered from diarrhea and vomiting as a result.

“This is clearly a rat and they have the nerve to have a 5 rating by the Department of Health, I can only think other people might have eaten rat.”,” Rosemary Thomas posted on Facebook Sundaymorning along with a picture of the offending food, claiming Popeyes' location at 145th St. and Frederick Douglass Blvd. served the meal to her family.

The U.S Department of Health and Mental Hygiene inspected the Popeyes on April 21and gave it an A grade, however, three previous check-ins since 2013 have found “evidence of mice or live mice present in facility’s food and/or non-food areas.”

African American woman, Ericka Hart has continued to grow in fame as she flaunts her body on social media and in public to boost the morale of women suffering from breast cancer across the world.

Two years ago, Ericka Hart, a 30 year-old sexuality educator was diagnosed with breast cancer. To raise awareness and provide visibility for Black queer women who are battling with or have battled breast cancer, Ericka attended this year’s Afropunk Fest in Brooklyn topless revealing her double mastectomy scars.

The courageous move caught the attention of the festival’s attendees and photographers. It wasn’t long before her photo and story went viral.

Ericka noted in her Afropunk blog, “Punk to me means standing in your truth and resisting white supremacist, patriarchal notions of existence. I wanted people to see me such that they saw themselves, their mothers, lovers and friends.”

Unfortunately, this wasn’t the first time Ericka came face to face with the disease. Breast cancer claimed the life of her mother when Ericka was just 13 years-old.

A recent study found “The black-white disparity in breast cancer death rates has increased over time; by 2012, death rates were 42% higher in black women than white women.”

The trend is expected to continue. That same study found that “Black women are more likely than other racial/ethnic groups to be diagnosed at later stages.” Despite these dire facts, the face of breast cancer survivors tend to be white.

 As a black, queer survivor, Ericka was determined to show the world that “We exist.”

Ericka Hart is not only a breast cancer survivor, she is a breast cancer warrior. The decision to share her scars and her story are a true testament of her #BlackGirlMagic. We caught up with Ericka to discuss her decision to attend Afropunk topless and the importance of visibility, sexuality, and self care.

ASUU denies plans to embark on strike on October 2nd

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has denied media reports saying it was planning to embark on a one-week warning strike. The News Agency of Nigeria NAN yesterday quoted the Chairman of the University of Abuja chapter of ASUU, Ben Ugheoke, as saying the union will on October 2nd embark on a one week warning strike to press home their demands fro the full implementation of the 2009 agreements they had with the Federal government.

In an interview with Premiumtimes today, Ugheoke denied making such an announcement in an interview he granted a NAN reporter.

“A certain reporter in NAN is responsible for this damage. As a result of this falsified report, I am facing a panel later tonight from ASUU National body. I have reached out to the NAN reporter and he told me it was a mix-up. He also begged me to save his job. We have never given a date for any form of strike, whether warning strike or full blown strike. There was nothing like a date fixed for a strike” he said.

Ugheoke says he hopes the agency will release a rebuttal to the false report soon. ASUU on August 31st, threatened to embark on a nationwide strike over the non-implementation of its 2009 agreement with the Federal Government.

A 25-year-old university student is in serious pains after chopping off his p*nis. He is now recuperating at Homa Bay County Hospital, Kenya.

According to the Nairobian, Joseph Odero Olajo, who is awaiting graduation in December, allegedly inserted his manhood through a nut in an attempt to ward off witchcraft.

Explaining what happened, Olajo, whose ancestral home is Got Jope Village in Mbita Sub-county, but who has been living with his maternal grandmother in Kabondo Kasipul Constituency, claims his uncles are out to bewitch him.

He further added that he did what he did to protect himself. In his mind, inserting his penis in the nut would act as a shield against evil spirits that may be sent to hurt him.

“I saw the nut near my grandmother’s door and remembered what my grandfather used to tell me about its magical powers. He had told me that such objects can protect an individual from evil,” he claimed, adding that, “I wanted to keep the nut in my pocket, but changed my mind for fear of losing it. I finally decided to keep it around my penis so that nobody could get wind of my secret,” he told Campus Vibe.

Olajo claims that his uncles planned to kill him because he is brilliant and full of prospects.

“There is a belief that if you are a bright son of a migogo (married daughter of the clan), you can take away blessings meant for your maternal uncles’ children. That is why one of the uncles wanted to use magic powers to ruin my life. I had to protect myself,” claimed Olajo.

He narrated how he inserted his penis in the nut. Unknown to him, what was meant to protect him would cause him untold pain. Olajo lost consciousness a day after inserting his p*nis in the nut.

He was allegedly found lying helpless at around 7pm, with his private part swollen and misshaped. After gaining consciousness, he was forced to reveal to his grandmother the source of his troubles, before he was rushed to hospital.

Explaining how they removed the nut, Homa Bay Medical Superintendent Francis Ochieng’ said: “We had to surgically remove the nut. We have now connected his urinary tubes to enable him go for short calls as the wounds heal,” said Ochieng’.

The incident left resident of Homa Bay County in shock.

Mother Of Two Rapes Twin Brothers, Including Her Daughter’s Boyfriend

A mother-of-two from Massachusetts has pleaded guilty to raping two twin brothers, including her daughter’s 15-year-old boyfriend.

Heather Salines, 40, was sentenced to four years in prison and three years’ probation Monday after she entered guilty pleas to two counts of child rape, two counts of child enticement, two counts of dissemination of obscene matter to a minor and one count of indecent assault and battery on a person over 14.

As part of the punishment phase, the Saugus woman was prohibited from having unsupervised contact with children under 16, and upon her release from prison she will be required to register as a sex offender and wear a GPS ankle monitor.

During the hearing in Essex Superior Court in Salem, District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett called Salines’ actions towards the two victims ‘beyond despicable’ and condemned her for taking advantage of her position as a trusted adult and betraying that trust ‘in a most vile way,’ reported the Boston Herald.

Salines was arrested in March 2014 when officials at Belmonte Middle School in Saugus discovered that her daughter’s then-15-year-old boyfriend had been showing nude pictures of the woman to classmates.

The boy told police he had previously had sex with Salines and they had exchanged naked photos.

She was later questioned by authorities and admitted that they had sexual encounters on a number of occasions.

Salines has a son and daughter, and she was married at the time of the incidents. She and her husband have since divorced.

Salines said she had met the boy two months before they became intimate, and he had told her about the personal turmoil he went through after ‘he lost his mother at a young age’.

‘When I looked at him, he did not act like a 15-year-old… he acted like a grown man,’ she said, telling police things ‘spiraled out of control’ and she ‘lost herself.’

They first had sex in a car in the parking lot of a Saugus-area park on March 17. Two days later, Salines said the teen booked a room at the local DoubleTree hotel, because there was always the threat that her daughter could walk in on them when they were at the house.

Salines was getting ready to accept a plea deal in June 2015 when the victim’s twin brother came forward also accusing her of rape.

According to court papers, Salines raped the second boy at her home in February 2014, about a month before the initial alleged incident. Prosecutors said Salines sent the boy explicit pictures of herself.

A month later, officials say Salines moved on to the teen’s brother, who had just turned 15, and began sending him nude photos, a selfie with his name written on her body.

The two had oral sex and intercourse on two separate occasions, including once at the DoubleTree hotel, where the victim and Salines took a selfie while lying in bed together, according to a report in the Eagle Tribune.

Wicked Local reported that Salines’ attorney, William Korman, said after the hearing that his client ‘feels terrible’ about the pain she has caused everyone, especially her own family, and described the plea deal as ‘the best possible solution’ for all involved.

A cleric has shared a troubling testimony of how he survived a near-fatal attack by a team of ruthless assailants who invaded his home.

Assemblies of God Spring of Joy Assembly, Agric was agog with celebration on Sunday the 11th of September as the Church celebrated the greatness of God in delivering his servant, Deacon Martins Nwaobaji.

The people danced and praised the Lord and in one voice and agreement shouted “it could have only been God”
The Deacon gave his heart-moving testimony, describing how men of the underworld broke into his compound and robbing the innocent people therein. They didn’t fail to break into his own apartment, and before he knew it, the robbers had released 39 bullet shrapnels which scattered all over his face.

Miraculously none got into his eyes, neck or any vital part of his body. They only hit the non vital part of his face and were skin deep.

Deacon Simon Nwaobaji has since recovered as he has gone through many corrective surgeries and is very much alive and well to the shame of the devil and to the glory of God.

In the man’s words, “I am glad to be alive and blessed to still be in the land of the living. The enemy made an attack on my life but God who is above all has shielded me. I survived 39 bullets to my face and head which is purely a miracle, I would worship God forever because he has shown me great and mighty things”

A massive python which missed road and ended in the trap of a village hunter, has ended up being the contents of a delicious pepper soup by residents of a community.

The above python was killed by man in a Nigerian community as they quickly used it to make a delicious peppersoup.

A social media user who shared the photos in an online platform wrote; “A hunter in my area killed and brought home this huge snake. It made a nice pepper soup for many of us. See the the neighbours having a closer look at it.”

The community or state in Nigeria which the snake was killed by a resident, was not ascertained as at the time filing this report.

Nigerian Father Narrates How His Premature Child Drew Him Closer To God

Nigerian Facebook user, David Osaghae, shared the amazing testimony of how his premature daughter drew him closer to God.

This was the beginning of a new me, the process of change, redemption, salvation or simply put, Getting closer to God.

My daughter was born on the 3rd of March 2002, 5 months and 2 weeks of pregnancy. She was premature. I had just finished my overnight or 2nd job as a bouncer in a club in Germany.

She weighed 790grams, not even 1kg. On seeing her tiny structure inside the incubator, I cried like I never cried before. I asked God, why, why me? After crying out my heart, I realized only a miracle could save her.

She is the reason till today, why my faith in God is so strong. I laid my hands over her and prayed. I did not know what to pray about, but I prayed my pains onto God and begged God not to allow my sins/punishment for my numerous transgressions be passed unto my little girl.

I made a vow to God. 3 days later I went and paid the vow to my Church to be passed unto the poor and needy. My Pastor prayed with me. I prayed that my daughter would leave that Hospital without complications hence the vow/deal with God.

My daughter is 14+ years old now, straight A student, speaks 3 international languages already, and she left that Hospital without complications.

What else can I say? My pain as I saw it then was actually God’s way of drawing me closer to come to know him and have faith in him to prepare me for the movement that was to come. This was the day that the destiny of Judo Movement was redirected from waywardness back to the narrow path of Christ.
