When it comes to grooming, a lot of men look neat, sharp and well-groomed on the outside, but when they start to undress, a whole lot of secrets are exposed. One of them is our topic of discussion today – Underwear Mistakes.
While some men get the boxers business right, others, however, do not.
Here are some underwear mistakes you could be making.
You Wear Them More Than Once: It may seem easier and faster to just get in the shower, come out and grab the same boxersyou took off before going into the shower; but expert tells us that the average pair of dirty underwear contains between one-tenth and one full gram of feaces. Now that is absolutely disgusting! So guys, wearing your boxers for more
than once before washing will not only make you smelly but also increase the risk of infection and transmission of pathogenic bacteria.
The solution to this obviously is to wash you briefs and underwear after wearing them once. Also, washing with hot water after use can significantly
eliminate all bacteria that detergents can’t destroy.
Wearing The Wrong Type Under Dress Pants: You don’t want to get to the office to realise that your boxers are looking all lumpy, clumpy and unruly under your pants. You want to make sure that when you sit, you can confidently get up without having to struggle of a bunched up boxer shorts. Briefs or boxer briefs are your best bet with dress pants. They’ll hug your butt and present a smooth appearance on your dress pants.
Buying All White: White clothing generally shows stains easily, including underwear. It’s not a crime to have white boxer shorts, but don’t have them all in whites. Opt for darker colours like navy, grey, and black; they take longer to fade, and you won’t have to replace them as frequently.
Wearing The Wrong Fabric: Fabrics like spandex traps sweat instead of wicking it. This can lead to infections and unpleasant odours; while regular cotton underwear is light and breathable—good for casual, day-to-day wear. Microfiber underwear wicks away moisture and is perfect for wearing on hot days, under gym clothes, or if you’re just plain sweaty. So before you buy another 6-pack of briefs, check the materials label.
Wearing Tight Underwear: stop wearing tight underwear at night, relax and go for loose underpants during nighttime, which would improve the quality of your sperm and even reduce the DNA fragmentation.
Not Changing Them After Workout: It is
absolutely not okay to wear the same pair of boxers you used during workouts all day. It doesn’t matter if you just put them on in the morning, it is just wrong guys! When you change out of your sweaty gym shorts, make sure you also grab a fresh pair of boxers. Bacteria love warm, moist, dark environment and you sure don’t want them loitering around your boys. Sweaty underwear is a breeding ground for fungi and bacteria, so change out of them immediately after workout.
Your Drying Procedure Is Wrong: Using a washing machine and dryer can affect the elasticity of the material from which your briefs are made. The heat from the dryer can cause the elastic material to stretch beyond its limit making your boxers appear baggy and loose. It’s best to sun dry. If you must make use of a dryer, ensure that you use a cool or delicate cycle instead of using high heat. This will be gentle on the fabric and make your underwear last longer.
