Uche Aguh has released the trailer for the upcoming film,“Sambisa,” written and directed by Aguh.

Described as the first narrative film to be made about Boko Haram, the short film based on the stage play “Into the Sambisa,” also written by Aguh, highlights the Chibok School-girl abduction scandal which occurred in Borno state, Northern Nigeria, in 2014.

The short film stars Shardiah Ssagala, Ejiro Okorodudu, Josh Okusanya, Tomi Sunmonu, Uche Aguh among others.


“The 273 girls who were abducted by Boko Haram Soldiers were taken into the Sambisa Forest. Some have escaped, while many remain in captivity. Now, more than two years passed, these girls are still nowhere to he found. The rest of the world may forget about these girls, but we will always remember them,” the video description reads.

On the night of April 14, 2014, 276 female students were kidnapped from the Government Secondary School in the town of Chibok in Borno State, Nigeria.

Responsibility for the kidnappings was claimed by Islamic Jihadist and terrorist organization, Boko Haram.

Other Nollywood productions on Boko Haram include, “No Good Turn” which was directed by Udoka Oyeka, the movie also stars Nobert Young and Waje Iruobe.

On December 18, 2015, “The Chibok Girls: Our Story,” a play which centers on the kidnap of over 200 girls from a secondary school in Chibok – events before the kidnap, the abduction itself, and its aftermath, will premiere in Nigeria.
